I went to Michael's on Monday. For those of you outside of the states, Michael's is an arts & crafts store that I have a very hard time leaving after I step into it. I normally go with the exact cash that I can use just so I don't leave the rent there.

But after drying out my two black Sharpies and officially damage my favorite Microns I had the perfect excuse to go. I mean… I do need my Microns. Long story short, I obviously ended up buying a few more things and left the store with a smile that lasted the whole day, and I'm not even kidding. What a nerd.

My favorite acquisition was a landscape art journal that I haven't been able to let go off since the moment I stepped into my house on Monday. The cool thing about a journal is that you can use the front and the back of the same page, and that's something you can't normally do on a regular sketchbook. This adds some interest on the layouts you can create. The cool thing about THIS journal is the fact that is a smaller format than the one I had been using, so it gives me a different vibe and inspired me to do different things. Besides, the fact that I know that is not going to be a finished piece puts my perfectionist mind to rest and allows me to just go with it. (Watch a short video of it here: http://tinyurl.com/JessieamoVideo)

I've been working on some smaller and simpler illustrations inspired on requests my friends are making on Instagram. If you have a request of something you'd like to see, just leave a comment! I will include it in my journal exercises and tag the person who requested it when I upload the drawing.

Happy hump day!
