I know I haven't been posting a lot, but is just that I've kept myself very busy experimenting with responsive drawing exercises. I.can't.stop.

I discovered them on a Creativebug class taught by Pam Garrison. These exercises consist on creating a random background or scribble and trying to find shapes and objects on it as you go. No plan, no specific end result in mind, just experimenting with color combinations and new shapes (I've shared a few on my Instagram feed, you might've seen them). I really enjoy other types of traditional drawing... However, I must confess that I've fallen in love with this technique and it has become part of my creative routine.

Whenever I make a complicated or demanding drawing I have to make one or two of these afterwards. It is relaxing and gives creativity a boost. Additionally, since you're drawing directly in ink, is a great way to improve sketching skills. Also, I believe it brings a lot of the subconscious mind out, since you're just going with the flow and trying to make sense out of the nonsense, and I find that incredibly fascinating.

On the two exercises I'm sharing with this blog post, I tried drawing with the Pigma Brush pen instead of the Microns I normally use. The brush pen has a thicker stroke and it doesn't really allow you to give much detail to the drawing. I think the results have been interesting and I will definitely keep exploring with this.

Have a great Wednesday and hang on, Friday is around the corner. :)
